Boris Bukh is associate professor at the mathematics department of Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburg (USA). He is a specialist of various aspects of combinatorics. He visited LIGM for a month in may-june 2017 to work with Xavier Goaoc and Alfredo Hubard on geometric partitioning problems, pattern avoidance in order-types and questions in incidence geometry arising from computer vision. He also gave a series of lectures on linear-algebraic methods in combinatorics.
Arup Bose is Professor of Theoretical Statistics at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He is a specialist in the theory of large random matrices, of sampling theory, and econometrics. He is invited in June 2017 to the LIGM by Philippe Loubaton and Jamal Najim to work on various problems involving large structured random matrices.
Professor Zvavitch is Professor at Kent State University. His main research interests are Convex Geometry, Geometric Functional Analysis, and applications of Probability and Harmonic Analysis to those subjects.
Itaï Shafrir is a specialist of vector-valued variational problems, in particular those featuring an interplay of analysis and topology. During his stay in Labex Bezout he will collaborate with members of the laboratoire sharing the same interests and give a talk on his recent and ongoing research.
